Project Systems Engineering
Delivered Interface Control Document for Mars Sample Return Mission.
- Delivered the first iterations of the Interface Control Document for the Mars Sample Return Mission's Mars Ascent Vehicle (MAV)
- Determined and characterized the specifications of the MAV's UHF proximity link with the Mars Relay Network
- Produced extensive memorandums of consensus between systems engineers at Marshall Space Flight Center and JPL, characterizing and ensuring compatibility between the MAV's functional, mechanical, thermal, electrical, and data interfaces
- Characterized the required GNC data for aiding the MAV in orbital rendezvous with the Earth Return Orbiter and for possible post-anomaly trajectory reconstruction
Data Systems & Controls Software Engineering
Developed safety-critical software for New Glenn program.
- Developed, tested, and delivered safety-critical embedded software components under the New Glenn program
- Created a prototype for a proprietary safety-critical software interface
- Proposed and developed build tools for automating development processes
Space Telecoms Systems & Software Engineering
Created telemetry subsystem module for Integrated Modeling Environment.
- Created the telemetry subsystem module for the Integrated Modeling Environment (IME), developed in-house by JPL to create a centralized mission formulation and concurrent engineering environment
- Participated in a variety of Team X mission formulation exercises for NASA Discovery (sub-$500m) proposals
- Contributed the astrodynamics and telecoms analysis to a concurrent systems engineering study of a mission to the Ice Giants meant to test the capabilities of the Integrated Modeling Environment
Software Engineering Intern
Studied aerospace electronics and worked with digital mapping systems.
- Studied design, manufacturing, and testing methodologies for creating aerospace electronics and avionics
- Worked with the UC-6000 airborne digital mapping system developed by Aerocomputers, used by military and law-enforcement agencies
